Robert and Hilary Jenner are both graduates of Meredith Manor. Robert majoring in Farrier Science and Hilary in training and teaching.

Hilary grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. She began riding at age 4 and got her first pony as a 6th birthday gift from her grandfather. What began as a backyard hobby bloomed into a lifetime career with horses. She took lessons and showed hunters and western for years but most of her free time was spent studying the horses and their behavior and riding for pleasure. As well as soaking up any and all training knowledge she could from various trainers. She trained her first horse completely unassisted when she was 12. Her first job was for a local miniature appaloosa breeder as barn help. And she advanced from there.

Before college she was hired by Lucas Racing Inc. a top racing QH breeder. She became the broodmare/foaling manager. She was in charge of the daily care of the mares and attended the foaling of 20 plus babies.

She studied hunters and dressage at Meredith Manor with her major in teaching and training. While there she met Robert.

Robert grew up in southern California. He always had an attraction to horses and from the time he was 8 years old he began spending summers in West Virginia with his aunt who was the head Jumping Instructor for Meredith Manor. He quickly formed a strong bond with the farrier instructor Brian Farcus who became his mentor. As a teenager he started a small business offering training, stall cleaning and riding. He was quite successful and stayed very busy. He also worked for a local guest ranch as a ranch hand. Having spent so much time at Meredith Manor growing up it was an obvious choice when it came time for college.

After graduation they both moved to Arkansas and managed a 150 acre farm for a barrel horse breeder while running a training business out of the facility. They decided to move to the east coast and start Elf Creek Farm in Virginia. They offered farrier services, training, lessons and horse sales. In addition they stood an AQHA stallion at stud who sired multiple foals for them. The business was very successful but in June of 2007 they had their daughter Brianna. Now a family of three they needed a more consistent source of income so they took a job in Illinois managing a 200 acre boarding facility. They successfully brought in new boarders and improved the facility. They offered lessons, training, and farrier here as well.

After careful consideration and the idea of yet another horrible winter in Illinois they decided to move to Maryland where Hilary took a job managing a private warmblood barn and Robert found work outside the horse industry. Over the last few years Hilary has continued to offer training and lessons out of the farm they boarded at. And Robert has kept a small clientele for farrier.

The dream of owning their own farm recently became a reality and they are proud to finally be able to offer their services from their own barn.
